Universal Free School Meals

All pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive free school meals called Universal Free School Meals.

Pupils in Years 3 — 6 would usually pay for their meals, unless there are entitled to Free School Meals (FSM). However, schools in London have been given free school dinners from 1st September 2023 to the end of the school year in July 2024.

Nursery learners are not included in Universal Free School Meals and therefore need to pay, unless they are entitled to free school meals (FSM) and are in school for 2 sessions in one day (i.e. all day).

Pupils are obviously still able to have packed lunches if that is what they prefer.

We are anticipating a rise in school meals especially in the winter months. The school meals are ordered in from another school, so it is really important that the school is kept informed of whether children are eating school dinners or being provided for packed lunch. Children are not able to change meals types daily.
